Today, I am over at Melissa & Doug sharing some really fun ways to use stamps to practice sight word fun. Integrating sight words into everyday play, classroom activities and lessons at home are great ways to help your children gain sight word knowledge and make the connection between the abstract and the concrete. One of the most important ways to encourage sight word development is to repeat, repeat, repeat. One of my favorite ways to encourage children to learn their sight words was through the use of simple sight word lists the children could use for self assessment and as a resource during writing and reading. When I was in the classroom, I made it a point to integrate them into my daily lessons and embed them into our everyday activities.
Sight words are such an important part of reading and writing development.
